PostSubject: I can't get through this at all (NO Posting)   Sat Aug 16, 2008 9:36 pm

This thing is years old, I mean years! It's a story I was messing with but really never came to finish it. The thing of Muse is that I could never think of a name, so if there is people who want more of it then I will write more and come up with a name!

Muse laughed at Jacks joke, his green eyes bright with a warm smile that seemed to make his whole face light up. It was a bright sunny day today and he was happy Jack had came over to pull him out in it, if only Jack knew how his smile made him melt inside. Jack never was one to notice things, like when he spoke about getting a girlfriend as he had a few minutes ago. He did not see him flinch, or his smile turn to a look of pain. Now Muse watched as Jack talked about his cat Bob and how he jumped into the bath full of water.

Muse knew Jack loved his cat to death, but he also knew that while they stood with his gang, he would never say so. As Jack started to walk away the Gang followed while telling more jokes and funny stories together. Muse half wondered if Jack would notice if he left, but as he walked farther away he turned back to smile, the one that made him want to do anything for him. If only Jack knew what his smiled did, if only he knew how much he truly loved him. With a quick smile back he jogged after them, watching Jack turn back around before laughing as Larry said something about an apple falling on a sleeping dog.

He hated Larry; he seemed to always be near Jack when Muse was around. Jack turned back to him asking him what he wanted to do. To tell the truth he wanted Jack to ditch the gang and just hang out with him so Muse could hear his real laughs and not these fake ones, but to tell the truth was not an option. "Why don't we go to the fair that’s at the pier, no one will be there it’s too hot out." He hoped this would not bring snickers of laughter from the morons. They thought all of his ideas where for girls and that he was one, oh but how close to the truth they were.

Muse was still in shock after the gang had agreed to go to the fair, and now after they sat on the beach, he still did not know why. Jack had seemed happy and they all split up to go have some fun. Muse ended up by himself for the most part, and he simply walked around and watched everyone. It was an hour before a hand on his shoulder made him turn only to smile at the sight of Jack. Jack asked if he wanted to play some games, really Muse had wanted to try and get some stuffed animals so he had nodded.

Hours went by and when the Gang all got back together Jack had won a huge white tiger, a baby koi fish, and a lot of food and candy. He gave the fish and stuffed animal to him, saying his cat would tear the toy and eat the fish. Smiling he accepted both, knowing Jack just lied thinking he thought he was telling the truth. When Jack lied his grey eyes turned a blue color. He did not know this because he could not watch his own eyes, and no one who said he lied would tell him how they knew. Muse simply let him think the lie got past him.

Now they were all sitting on the beach watching the setting sun. They had swung by his house so he could drop the toy and fish off before they left to here. He closed his eyes and listened to the wave’s crash against a rock not too far. This was the only rock at the whole beach so it was safe to serf and swim here, even at night though you should never be alone. Suddenly six pairs of hands grabbed him and something was stuffed in his mouth. Screaming he struggled as his arms were tied behind his back and his feet tied together.

He looked up into the smiling faces of the Gang, only one face he cared about at that was Jacks. He was only half smiling, but he was still smiling. He listened to Jack say he was sorry, but it would not hurt just be a bit scary, and they all had done it but Muse. He wanted Muse to join the Gang so he was going to go through the acceptance thing. Screaming through his bounds he shook his head, blond bangs falling into his wide and fearful eyes.

Jack brushed them back before he looked back to the Gang and said ok. Muse screamed and struggled more as the Gang all walked together until they were up to their thighs in water. Laughing they set him on the rock and walked back to the beach before they talked to Jack and they all left without another look. Jack told him about this before, even had had gone through this. The gang tied up the new member and left him on the rock only to get him in the morning.

Crying he tried to wiggle out of the rope only to give up as he felt something warm sliding down his arms from his wrists. He did not know how long it was but suddenly he felt a wave crash over his legs making his eyes widen in fear. They did not looked at the tide, when the tide came in the water came over the rock! Panicking he tried to free himself again only to feel the warm wet feeling come from his ankles and wrists even more. He was going to die.

He lost track of time, but the water was at his chin now. The water burned where he had rubbed against the rope, and as waves came in they went over his head and a few times now he had gotten a lung full of the cold salty water. Most of him had gone numb from the cold now, and as he got another lung full of water; he closed his eyes but did not let himself cry as the water rose. It got so high that he had to look up and breathe, careful to do it after a wave had come. Just as his eyes closed from a dizzy rush, he felt something grab his shirt and pull him up and out of the water.

He was too tired to look, and to hurt too open his eyes again.

He did not know how long it was before he woke to a soft soothing voice and a hand brushing his hair. Something about the hand made him flinch back and his eyes snap open only to be blinded with bright white light above him. A woman somewhere told him to calm down or he would tire himself out, or hurt himself again. He slowly calmed down and opened his eyes slower this time until he saw he was in a white room on a bed, and a kind looking red haired woman was leaning over him smiling softly.

Looking at his arm he saw tubes sticking out and this quickly set him to panic again, this time a shrill like siren rang and a man came in telling the nurse to hold his legs. Muse recalled hands on him and this made him panic more, but a sharp pain in his arm soon made him feel a bit sleepy and light headed. The woman let go of his legs and sighed before giving him a bright smile. She told him she was a nurse and a fisherman had taken him here after finding him tied up on a rock.

After that she asked who did it, and what his name was. None of these he could answer, he did not remember. This made her frown sadly but she smiled again saying his family was here already and they could tell him his name. He stayed there for a few weeks, the salt in the water had dried out his skin, but luckily it cleaned out the wounds around his wrist and ankles. It was the last day he was staying at the hospital when a boy came to see him.

He had learned his name and what he liked, things like this. He remembered most of it now, just not many people or other sort of things. His sister had said him and this boy had been friends since they were little, so when he came up Muse smiled kindly up at him from the bed, only to gasp as arms were placed around him and he was pulled against a warm chest. It was a good thing he no longer had the IV drips in his arms. The boy Jack held him tightly and it was not long before he felt the top of his head was wet and the boy was sniffing.

Pulling back Muse smiled up at grey eyes, and some little thing nagged at his mind that he really loved this boy, but another tugged saying he should be angry or scared of him. Suddenly the boy smiled and Muse could not help but smile back in return as a flipping feeling came over his stomach. The boy suddenly looked sad and again he was pulled into a hug, only he listened as the boy said he was sorry over and over again.

Muse pulled back and looked at Jack, green eyes meeting dark and worried grey. A memory popped up and he remembered that Jacks eyes changed color when he lied, but now they did not. Getting sad himself he gave a weak smile before looking down and away from the others. "I do not know why you are saying sorry, but I know you’re not lying so I accept it." The boy looked torn between sad and happy, guilty almost, but then the smile lit up his face and Muse forgot to care.

It was weeks later, he was playing a card game when the door bell rang and being home alone, he quickly got up an answered it. There were six boys standing in his yard, and Jack was at the door. Stepping out he turned to Jack just as the other boy said he was part of the Gang no matter what happened. It was then he remembered what happened. Like getting hit in the head with a hammer, memories came rushing back making his eyes glaze over and his body grew still.

Jack frowned and touched his shoulder bringing him out of it. Muse looked at him and the other six boys before giving a warm smile at them. "Really, I don't have to do anything?" He watched all of them flinch, they did not even try to hide it, or it was so bad they couldn’t. Jack shook his head so hard Muse thought he might get whip lash. They all said no and never. Looking at them all funny he finely smiled before laughing happily. "Ok." That was all he needed to say.

The six boys went off but Jack stayed behind, looking at Muse as if he was a monster who would bite his head off at any second. Muse watched him walk up but he was not prepared when Jack fell to his knees in front of him. Quickly he pulled him up, fear and shock showing on his face. Jack was shaking like a leaf in a storm, but he looked up to meet green eyes. He started to ramble that he was so sorry, that he just wanted for him to be in the Gang. Muse looked at him before a sad smile came to his face.

If he told Jack what he felt for him now, he was scared Jack would say he loved him to just to keep Muse as a friend, but he could think of no other way of making Jack know he was not mad. He knew he should be, but he also knew Jack was a kind hearted person and not once had he ever hurt him. "Jack its ok I am not mad I promise. I won’t ever tell anyone who did it; I could never get you in trouble Jack, not when I love you more than anything in the world." He said this softly, almost making Jack move closer to hear.

After he finished Jack stared at him before he finally smiled and hugged him, saying they would be brothers forever. Muse felt like his heart was torn out and put on a pike for all to see. Tears fell from his face and Jack whipped one away with a smile, saying he was about to cry to. With another hug he bounded off with the promise to come by tomorrow so they could talk and hang out together.

Muse agreed and went back inside, closing the door with a soft click. He should have known, but at least he would keep Jack as a friend, and for now they would stay together, but life was full of turns and bends, some day they just might take one away from the others. For now he would smile and be happy he has a friend like Jack.
