I think it would be a good idea to separate the new PM warning from the red bar at the top. Just to make it a little more obvious that you have one >.>

yeah, because its a red bar you cant realize when you have a new pm, because the NEW PM symbol is red too, so if your are not expecting a pm is rather difficult to see it

or a blue bar to contrast with the red one?
